Father's Day Contest is Underway

Dolores Canning Co., distributor of L.A.’s famous Dolores Chili Brick, opened an essay contest to kids ages 7-13 in the LA area.

The contest falls in line with the end of the school year and Father’s Day and asks kids to answer the question, “Why is your Dad the best?”

The contest is open to kids across Southern California. They are asked to write a 250-word essay answering, which must be submitted with contestants’ information, including name, address, phone number and e-mail address. The entry deadline is Tuesday, June 15.

The winner receives a free case of Dolores Chili for their dad, and their picture will be taken and posted on the website and Dolores Chili’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.

The June 15 cut off allows enough time for the free case of Dolores Chili to be shipped to dad in time for a Father’s Day weekend or Father’s Day barbecue.

Contestants can ask a family member help them e-mail essays to Cyndi@dolorescanning.com, or drop them by Dolores Canning’s East L.A plant located at 1020 North Eastern Avenue.

For more info please view the contest flyer with complete details at https://dolorescanning.com/canning/pdfs/free_fathersday.pdf.

Dolores Chili is sold in major grocery chains such as Food 4 Less and Ralphs, and in countless independent stores. The famous chili is also a hot item at Philippe The Original, in Downtown L.A and is sold in various fast food restaurants and hot dog and hamburger stands across Southern California.

The all-beef Chili Bricks are also sold on-line at www.DoloresChili.com
