Dolores Chili will host ‘Free Cup of Chili Day’ at Philippe the Original

Like many other chili makers, Dolores Chili is devoted to its family recipe since they began manufacturing the famous Dolores Chili Brick in 1973.

But what also sets them apart from the competition, aside from their unique brick shape and flavor, is their reputation for being “L.A.’s Favorite Chili.”

Last year was a successful one for the maker of the foodservice and retail-sized all beef, pre-cooked and spiced Chili Bricks. Their market expansion included bricks on shelves at all Southern California Vons locations, and a stronger presence in other stores such as Food4Less, Ralphs, Albertsons and Stater Brothers. They also introduced a new product; a chicken Chili Brick, which was on shelves in all Bristol Farms and Superior Grocers within weeks of introducing the product.

And for decades, the all-beef chili has been ‘proudly served’ by the cup or bowl at Philippe the Original in Downtown L.A.

“Everybody loves the chili,” said Philippe’s restaurant manager, Elias Barajas.
To celebrate their 2010 milestones and their partnership with Philippe’s, Dolores Chili will host a ‘Free Cup of Chili Day,’ at Philippe’s on Tuesday, January 18, 2011.
The first 500 guests, starting at 11 a.m., who accept a voucher available at either of Philippe’s entrances can present them at the counter for a free cup of chili with the purchase of any sandwich.
Philippe’s is located at 1001 North Alameda Street, Los Angeles, across from Union Station.
“This is our way of giving back to all of our chili fans, and to the fans of Philippe’s who we have had a strong partnership with,” said Dolores Chili president David Muñoz.

Dolores Chili Brick is shipped each week to countless retail stores, foodservice companies and restaurants nationwide. Although, it built its reputation in L.A. where their plant is located, people across the nation and globe request and order the chili in their city every day. Dolores Chili ships Chili Brick six-packs each week to locations such as Anchorage, Boston and Chicago. For more info about Dolores Chili please visit, www.LAsFavoriteChili.com.
